Earthworks in Golden Grove.

Golden Grove was developed as a planned community from the mid-1980s across rolling north-eastern ground, and most of its blocks were benched and retained when the estate went in. Those original walls and levels are now thirty-plus years old, and extensions, pools and rebuilds bring them back into question.

The ground and the work in Golden Grove

Adding a pool, an extension or a second level often changes the load on a wall that was designed for a backyard. Where that happens, an engineer's assessment comes first, and any new or replacement wall is built to that documentation with drainage behind it.

The rolling ground means stormwater crosses property lines. New pads and paved areas are drained so they don't push water onto a neighbour's block, with discharge to the approved point.
